Micra Fitment
Current products are designed around daily La Marzocco Linea Micra use: square magnetic remote, paddle-signal adapter, Bluetooth scale shot dosing, and OTA firmware maintenance. For non-Micra machines, contact support first to confirm installation space and harness conditions.
The shot-dosing PCBA connects to the original Micra paddle signal line through an adapter board, reducing irreversible wiring changes. Before installation, read Micra shot-dosing PCBA non-destructive installation guide and check power-off state, connector orientation, Bluetooth scale mode, and 50-second protection logic.
The S3 remote has a built-in admin portal and automatic OTA rules. For a designated version, open Micra OTA firmware maintenance or the OTA firmware center. If admin access is unavailable, an update is interrupted, or base firmware must be restored, use browser flashing as a fallback.

When making the first cup in the morning, I do not want to watch the scale and the phone at the same time. I set the target weight on the small square; after the Bluetooth scale connects, it doses automatically by weight, and the Micra workflow immediately feels smoother.

What moved me most was not that the screen looks good, but that there is much less switching. Machine status, extraction time, and target weight are all in front of me, so when making coffee my attention finally returns to the puck and flow rate.

At home, the same Bluetooth scale is sometimes used for pour-over and sometimes for espresso. The small square can manually disconnect it or re-enable scanning, so I no longer have to guess who took the scale connection.

Backflushing used to rely on memory, and when I got busy I would put it off. Now the entry is available by swiping up on the settings page, and I can also see shot count and rinse count, so maintenance finally no longer feels like last-minute homework.

I do not really like tinkering with firmware, but automatic OTA makes me feel much more at ease. It only prompts when there is an update, and S3 and C3 status are shown separately; that matters when using the device long term.

During training, what I fear most is the workflow being interrupted by small problems. Target weight, scale connection, and extraction time are all on the screen, so students can more easily understand how a cup of coffee is reproduced.

When continuously testing beans with friends, the curve and time are useful. It is not to show off data, but to know where the previous cup changed, so the next adjustment has more basis.

Putting the official firmware check inside the device is very practical. I used to be unable to tell whether it was the espresso machine firmware or the small square firmware; now the entry and prompts are much clearer.

Browser flashing is not used every day, but having it is reassuring. When a customer upgrade is interrupted, a browser plus a Type-C data cable can restore the basic firmware, which makes after-sales communication much less anxious.

I like the idea of the admin portal. When the phone and the small square are on the same local network, I can see Wi-Fi, cloud account, machine selection, versions, and diagnostics without asking after-sales support every time.

What I care about is the control link. Automatic shot stopping is completed by C3 and the Bluetooth scale, not by waiting for the phone or cloud to respond, which reassures me more than an ordinary remote.

It does not make coffee for me, but it organizes the parts that easily become messy. Shots are watched on the screen, maintenance through the entry, upgrades by version; the whole Micra usage habit feels more complete.

The small square makes me more willing to do maintenance. Backflushing is no longer something I only do when I remember it, but has a clear entry and prompts just like pulling a shot, making long-term use of the machine more reassuring.

I like that it is quiet. Sitting beside the Micra, it normally just lets me glance at the status, and only during real extraction does it help watch the time, weight, and connection.

After the Bluetooth scale connection status became visible, troubleshooting involved much less guessing. Whether the scale is occupied by the phone or C3 is not scanning can be judged in a few seconds.

The best thing about automatic updates is that they do not disturb too much. It stays quiet when there is no update and prompts only when there is one; for someone who uses the machine every day, this is more comfortable than frequent pop-ups.

Automatic dosing by weight is not laziness; it is reducing variables. Beans, grinding, and puck prep are still my responsibility, but after the cup-stopping action becomes stable, comparing flavors becomes much easier.

When handing over to new users, backend diagnostics are very helpful. Wi-Fi, cloud, machine binding, and C3 version can all be seen, so problems do not become a guessing game from the start.

It makes the Micra feel more complete. Things that used to be scattered across the machine, scale, phone, and after-sales tools can now mostly be found on one small screen.

When I buy a device, I look at the recovery path. The small square uses OTA normally, and when something is abnormal it can still be flashed through the browser; that rollback feeling makes me willing to use it long term.
