OTA, Manual Checks, and Browser Flashing: Firmware Maintenance Paths

Explains automatic OTA checks, manual S3/C3 version review, and authorized browser flashing as the recovery path after an interrupted update.

IRIS4 firmware maintenance has more than one path. For daily use, the admin portal can check for updates automatically, and S3/C3 versions can be checked manually when needed. If OTA fails because of a network, power, or cache problem, browser flashing remains the recovery fallback.

1. How to Choose a Maintenance Path

PathBest ForNote
Automatic OTAKeeping the recommended version current during daily use.Keep Wi-Fi available and do not disconnect power during the update.
Manual CheckSupport guidance, installation acceptance, or checking versions after receiving the device.Compare the current and online versions in the admin portal before deciding to update.
Browser FlashingInterrupted OTA, abnormal version state, or support-directed recovery.Use Chrome or Edge with a data-capable USB-C cable and follow the authorized process.

3. Why S3 and C3 Must Be Checked Together

S3 handles the screen, admin portal, Wi-Fi, cloud, and OTA interface. C3 handles target-yield control and Bluetooth scale readings. Checking only the S3 version is not enough; target-yield, scale, and dosing issues also require confirmation of the current C3 version.

4. Browser Flashing Is Not a Normal Download Link

Browser flashing is used for recovery maintenance and normally requires an activation code, authorization record, and browser serial connection. It is not a public firmware-download page, and users should not freely flash older versions. Before flashing, ask support to confirm the device model, symptom, and recommended version.
