Smart Remote First Wi-Fi and Cloud Binding Checklist

A first-use checklist for language selection, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, local admin access, La Marzocco cloud account binding, and machine selection.

When you receive an IRIS4 remote for the first time, do not change every setting immediately. A safer path is to finish Wi-Fi, cloud binding, and machine selection first, then configure target yield, auto standby, and OTA behavior. This checklist is useful for new users, delivery staff, and support calls.

If the on-site network is unstable, finish local admin settings first. Cloud loading can take time, so avoid repeatedly pressing save.

1. Check Three Things After Power-On

Language

Choose the interface language during first boot so admin, OTA, and prompts are easier to follow.

Power

Use USB-C power during first setup, OTA, backflush testing, or long admin sessions to avoid power loss while saving settings.

Touch

Swipe left or right to switch pages. Tap the left or right half of the screen to adjust values. If touch feels wrong, restart before continuing.

2. Join the Device Hotspot and Save 2.4GHz Wi-Fi

  1. Connect your phone or computer to the hotspot shown by the remote.
  2. Open the local admin address shown on the device. Initial hotspot mode usually uses 192.168.4.1.
  3. Select a 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and save.
  4. Wait for the device to reboot or refresh, then check the new LAN IP on the settings page.
Network ConditionRecommendation
Router combines 2.4GHz and 5GHzChoose the SSID that clearly marks 2.4GHz. Some combined SSIDs can slow or fail connection.
Phone says the hotspot has no internetDo not switch to cellular immediately. Stay on the device hotspot or use a computer for admin access.
No IP after savingWait 30 seconds, restart the remote, then check the red IP on the settings page.

3. Bind the La Marzocco Cloud Account

In the admin portal, save the account used by the official La Marzocco app, then wait for the machine list. A machine visible in the official app is easier for the remote to synchronize with boiler state, presets, official firmware, and backflush-related status.

4. Do Not Change Too Many Items First

For the first pass, finish only network, cloud, and machine selection. After the home page is stable, open Bluetooth scale and target-yield settings, or read the full online manual.
